JUNETEENTH - also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day - is a holiday commemorated on the anniversary date of the June 19, 1865 announcement by Union Army general Gordon Granger, proclaiming freedom from slavery in Texas.

Each day of our Black History Month event will conclude with a set of our educational enrichment tools - a comedy show and stage play. All will be held at the Mary Pickford Theatre in Cathedral City, CA.

Modeled after the 1983 dating show, Love Connection, this production is designed to be a tool to educate the audience about facts unknown about some of America's historical African-American figures.
